My radio was more static than clear.

Needed to eliminate Static

the built in FM modular wasnt sufficient to overcome the close FM chanels in a major city....too much static, installed the direct adapter and problem solved.
However it did take two additional antenna adapters which was another $30 cost... See more

this is a great buy, most portable xm radios don't put out enough power for the radio to keep it locked in, but adding this signal booster was the best thing i ever did, i can even go through tunnels without losing the signal!!!!!
