The best thing I ever bought
Review From: smallengine_99@yahoo.com, Feb 19, 2007  | See All Reviews
I have been researching gps units for some time now. I have been told by many people garmin is the only way to go. I took there advice and bought the c330. I do alot of driving and it works great even when i make a wrong tun it corrects my mistakes and puts me back on track. I work for direct tv so I travel all over lost with out it. It is so easy to use the instructions were never read. I pulled it out of the box and starting using it right away. love the fact that it upcomming streets when your driving and have no set way point. The features I like the most is I never have to look at a map again. It has listing for stores, restraunts, gas stations, ans about anything you can think of. It's like having the yellow pages on you dashboard. when searching for place it not only takes you there it shows you the address and phone #. I also love the touch screen it make for easy use. Two things I wish it had was traffic and weather alearts. Over all for the money it is a great product I would buy another one in a heartbeat. My father uses a garmin for hunting. One day he left it on the roof of his truck, and when he found it it was ran ov over by a car. So the next day he bought another. Garmin is the best for quality and price. I also talk to a few of my coworkers that have gps on the their trucks, one has a tom tom he like it ok but wishes now he bought a garmin after seeing it in action. THE GARMIN C330 IS THE BEST UNIT FOR THE MONEY. GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU BUY ONE TOO YOU WILL LOVE IT. Any questions about the garmin c330 I will be glad to answer them the best I can.

Great electronics easy to use
Review From: Jack, May 28, 2008
Out of the box and a few minutes and it was set. I would never leave home without it. ONLY drawback is that the maps are outdated and Garmin charges to update.

No excuse for being lost
Review From: S.J. Wilhelm, Mar 3, 2008
My wife purchased my Garmin C 330 GPS Street Pilot for Christmas. I am using it in the car at the present time and also plan to use it on our Motorcycle Trike this coming riding season. It is a first class of workmanship. It is so easy to use and find food, gas. lodge etc; Our daughter wants to take it with her when she flys to Califorina this spring, so we just bought her one for her birthday. I find that there are some better Rt's to take from point A to point B sometimes. I highly recommend this unit for the price.

Review From: WF, Aug 7, 2007
Excellent product, simple to learn and use. Nice clear display. I'm sure more expensive models provide more features, but this unit provides everything you need in a nice small package at a very good price.

IT ROCKS
Review From: Toby, Jun 18, 2007
I've had the C330 for about 4 months now, It ROCKS. I travel sometimes and even at home I love the ease of just a couple of presses of the screen and i'm on my way. The best thing is I was stuck in traffic once and I pressed detour and it gave me another way for me to go around the traffic to my destination. Get it, it works.

Great product! Don't know how I traveled without one before!
Review From: Pamela Genovesi, Mar 2, 2007
This is an outstanding product. I have had mine for about 6 weeks so far and it has already paid for itself. I just got back from a trip to San Diego and although I had never been there before, I was able to get around with issue. The menus are easy to use, the icons and preloaded points of interest are easy to understand, and the graphics on the screen are clear and concise. I will be using it for my next trip (South Carolina) and have no fears at all about getting around or being lost.

What a bargain!
Review From: Brad U, Feb 27, 2007
This is the third portable GPS I've owned, and it's the best. I doubt that it can be beaten for the price. It's accurate, has an easy to use menu (I only glanced at the enclosed instructions), recalculates directions quickly, and has excellent sound quality. I had an older model Garmin (GPS V) and this one is 10 times better. I also recently had a Magellan Roadmate 760, which was a decent unit, but it's bulky, more expensive, was temperamental at times, and acted weird if I forget to extend the antenna. This Garmin does not require you to do anything with the antenna since it's internal. I'm extremely happy with my Garmin c330 and highly recommend it.

Works fine in Canada
Review From: Philippe, Jan 4, 2007
I never write review on product but for that one I was so pleased that I want to let you know how much I like it.I use to rent cars and purchased the C330 because it can be mounted to any windscreen vehicle without damage. The c330 easily unplug from its mounting kit, so you can walk away and even use it walking around. There is not battery to buy/change, it recharges from the car mount.Satellite acquisition is fast, few seconds.I used it to find my way and visit Montreal.Even if you miss a turn, it quickly recalculates a new route and continues its guidance. It has got lots of spoken and written languages with perfect audio, loud and clear. It tells you in advance the next turn and then where to turn. It's not just a positioning system, it's a database of so many streets, restaurants, gas stations, hotels etc. Lets say you feel hungry and would like to find a restaurant, you press the food symbol, select the type of food (French, Italian, German) and it gives you a list of them starting with the closets with their distances, directions, addresses and phone numbers. Press one on the screen, and off you go. You can search for any name as well. I just had a problem with it; maybe the database was not up to date. One restaurant I went to did not exist at the address and another time I could not do a turn into a one-way street. It needed an update. The touch screen is good but I found the picture not as bright if seen from an angle. There are no coordinates input/view but has a driver it's not useful and I guess it can be done with a computer software. my wife loves it.

Works just fine, great tool
Review From: Leon, Nov 22, 2006
Bought the unit 6 mth ago. Amazing amount of information. Locations of database includes phone numbers somewhat similar to the yellow pages which has been great. Very user friendly. A good basic model with voice. Just be aware the screen is touch sensitive and your destination could change if not careful. It does have its own mind on how to get there but it does detour the way you want to go. I no longer carry a Thomas guide and I never carried a phone book and now I have one thanks to the C330 unit. I drive all over LA, OC, SD, and Riverside. My wife uses it as well as my teenage son without my instructions.

Review From: Steve, Sep 11, 2006
We went Big Foot hunting at the Kentuck/Tennessee state line and looked for the best GPS. We bought the Garmin c330. We spent more time playing with it than looking for Bigfoot. Very easy to use, right out of the box, it even had some of the dirt roads we were on. Looks great in the truck, worked well in the deep woods, between giant hills, noe dead spots. The night display was an awesome surprise, it changes displays at night so it won't blind you.

previously used Garmin 2620. The C330 is much better. Smaller, lighter with same or better features. I have had a couple of accuracy issues with the newest NAVTEQ V8 software. Also, you have to wrestle a little with the suction cup dismount. You also will want to invest in the optional 110V charger as the only way to charge out of the box is in your vehicle.

I am someone with NO sense of direction. I couldn't be happier. Last week I ran into detours coming home from work. If I didn't have Garmin I'd still be lost out there in the woods. LOL. Is there an owners manual?

My daughter calls my wife from her car for directions a lot of time. NO MORE
Review From: Gerard, Jul 27, 2006
My wife's girlfriend paid us a visit from Florida. I am in N J. She traveled alone. She just bought her Garmin c330 and said it was the best. It felt as if she had another person with her. I liked it so much I bought two. One for my daughter who is in collage and one for us. IT'S GREAT FOR GARAGE SALES.

Great product. Ready to use out of the box
Review From: Walter DuPuis, Jul 11, 2006
Did a lot of research and it paid off. This unit can't be beat for the price. Doesn't even need to come with instructions. Aquires satellite quickly. Choice of languages. Doesn't say street names, but instructions are so good I don't have to look at the screen and don't need to look for street signs to confirm correct road. Can download updates from the website, although I haven't tried yet as the unit comes preloaded with up to date maps. Highly recommend.

Review From: Kevin Callahan, Jul 3, 2006
My wife took a new visiting nurse job and is now working in unfamiliar areas. We bought the Garmin C330 (Garmin name recommended by co-workers that own boats), took it out of the box and were using it within 5 minutes. Very easy to use and very reliable. We would always use maps but the map doesn't do you any good when the signs are missing. C330 gives you turn by turn directions as well as a wealth of additional info. Great product.

All you need to avoid getting lost
Review From: QTV, Jun 12, 2006
I don't have good vision, therefore I can't see far enough to read street names. I've been lost several times while visiting new towns and hated it. I don't have a lot of money and I hate memorizing books in order to use a machine. This is where Garmin's C330 comes in. It's simple, easy to use and won't ruin you! It's so user friendly that you won't even need to read the booklet. The voice is also very clear and I love it when they prepare you in advance by saying things like "keep right" or to prepare to turn in 200 meters. I've even found new ways to get around town that were more efficient than my old streets! Lastly, my wife who knows how to drive, but is new here won't get lost! The C330 really brings peace of mind and does so cheaply!

Review From: Tom Milligan, Feb 2, 2006
I got this for Christmas. It was easy to install and is very accurate. As a fighter pilot I demanded a good nav system and this is what the Garmin 330 delivers. When you take a different route it recalculates faster than many others that I've seen. I would buy another.

It is much better than the TomTom Go 700
Review From: Jeff, Aug 22, 2005
I just returned TomTom Go 700 to exchange the Garmin C330. I'm sure Garmin C330 is much better, because the map data provider is Navteq.(TomTom is Tele-Atlas) I'm sure that Navteq is much better, less error, and most companies cooperate with Navteq like Google maps, Mapquest, Yahoo! maps, Msn maps... I almost got into an accident with the TomTom because too much errors. The road on high-way is going left, but TomTom display going right. I the person who tried both Garmin and TomTom, so listen to me. Garmin is better. Don't listen to the people who only tried one.
