Highly recommended for photo editing
"...
Advertised as a ''wide gamut'' monitor and, while I can't test it I have no reason to doubt that claim. After calibration and profiling, soft proofs agree very well with prints.... See more

Happy software developer
"...I am a computer software developer and serious amateur photographer.
I spend 10 hours a day at the computer and work with dual monitors. When one of my 3x4 aspect ratio monitors died recently, I was determined to have an IPS replacement.... See more

Good general purpose monitor

This is a good general purpose monitor with many inputs. It also has stable firmware which does not do anything bad as some cheaper ones do.... See more

Pros: - No dead pixels - Bright vivid colors - Ergonomic - Huge resolution (1920 x 1200) - Easy to use OSD - Lots of inputs Cons: - Back light bleeding aka "glow" - Cable management system on the back sucks - Bezel is not really flush with the LCD in the right bottom corner, standby LED light "bleeds" through the gap (noticeable only when monitor is turned off) - Standby LED too bright but can be turned off from the OSD menu Other Thoughts: I hope to keep this monitor long enough to make worth the $550.

I'm new to the whole high end monitor thing, I have never spent more than 400 on a screen before this one, but the OSD is AMAZING. It is highly customizable with tons of in Depth Features.... See more

Pros: 3 different types of connections, including DisplayPort.
"...Very happy Cons: None at this time. Other Thoughts: I notice nothing like a screen-door effect.

Pros: Absolutely beautiful color reproduction Really easy on my eyes; after a full-day tiring out my eyes on less superior monitors at the office, I can use this one at home and my eyes feel great Out of all the monitors I've used, this one has the best menu design (a godsend when you must constantly make minute changes during a calibration) Pretty high (elevation) monitor stand; good for those who don't like to slouch Really great size / resolution; I'm spoiled by two monitors at work (although inferior quality) and usually loathe working on one monitor, but this one is big enough to make it possible It's available in matte, take THAT Steve Jobs!

Cons: Definitely not the nicest industrial design; the monitor itself is fine (square, black, plain...a little bit thick, but I guess that's what you get with the better LCD panels), but the stand is pretty chunky...not a deal breaker by any means, but it would be nice if we weren't ashamed to put our monitors on our counter topsText isn't STELLAR...... During two weeks I received three units from different merchants and had to send them back: all of them had green-to-pink color shift from the left to right side of the screen. Absolutely unacceptable if you require color accuracy for photo editing.... See more

Pros: After calibration (via spyder3pro and basICColor) a superb picture.
"...Colors, gamma, white point and black level are all spot on. Coming from TN panels for gaming, this H-IPS panel is gorgeous and viewing angle is head and shoulders above TN.
After using this monitor for photo editing, then looking at my Samsung TN (226BW) beside it, I now understand why IPS is the panel for accuracy. The HP is much more 3D like, has rich saturated colors, and more realistic.... See more

Pros: Amazing color gamut.
"...Excellent off-axis viewing. Tons of connection options (including DisplayPort)IPS panel (H-IPS), not cheap TN panelTrue 1920x1200 unlike the latest round of 1920x1080.
Cheaper than anything comparable (comparable monitors can be 2-3x the price)Zero bad pixels. Will display 1080p content (HD Cam, BluRay, etc...) in exact pixel-pixel mode (w/option to stretch) Cons: Slow to find input until you disable the auto-input scan.... See more

Pros: Amazing contrast Great color Very deep blacks Excellent build quality Stand is well designed, supports rotation very well Cons: Mediocre response time and "ghosting" in high-motion applications, but that's to be expected from an IPS panel Other Thoughts: About a year and a half after I bought it, it developed a patch of hot pixels.
