I was in an apartment when I first bought my Haier XQJ50-31 portable washing machine, about 10/2003. And I am so glad still, to avoid crowded, quater-hogging landromats. The clothes washer, I'm so pleased to say has not given me any problems! Although it can accomodate 11lbs/load, I'm still always careful not to over load it. It's a 'top-loader' and the lid, is made of a kind of plastic material, did get a fine crack. But this may have resulted from some heavy object being placed on it. Just in case you may be wondering, it gets used a lot, for one thing, I am a nurse I have lots of uniforms to wash.Thanks for reading my little update. This washer is quiet and easy to use. The spin cycle removes 99% of the water, making drying time much shorter. The clothes come out clean. It is fully automatic; when power is turned out all the cycles are selected for you, the total time is shown on the display. It is easy to change the selection to what you need. I am so happy with it-no more dragging dirty clothes to the laundermat, and no more being at the mercy of people using the machines when you need them. All in all, I would recommend this washer to everyone.

I bought this new from an online auction for a very good price. I was not sure how it would work, but I am very pleased with its performance. It hooked right up to the kitchen faucet with ease. It cleans clothes, etc. much better than the coin operated ones, and I can soak things! We put on the castors, and can easily roll it back and forth to the sink. It actually has a good sized capacity, I'm able to wash queen sized cotton blankets, two of them, if not too thick. But it can handle more than I thought it would, and I never, ever overload it.
