I have wanted a Jenn-Air downdraft range for years and finally had the ability to buy one recently. The Powerburner ROCKS--it can heat a carbon steel wok to restaurant temperatures to cook food quickly and evenly. The downdraft system works fine for me, and I've had great luck with the oven baking pastries, pizzas and roasting meats. I've yet to fool with the convection settings, and I have no idea what "gas leak" the previous reviewer is referring to. My Jenn-Air is so far above my previous gas range (a Magic Chef) that it defies comparison.
