i used these at the shore for walking and fishing from the beach and boat.

What I like most is they allow my feet to breathe and stay pretty cool like a sandal or Teva but give full protection to feet and toes.

Great hiking and casual sandal.
"...You can wear them on the sand but they do pick up about a "pound" of sand each as you walk along and must empty them before doing more serious walking. So, not a soft sand shoe.
They do take a little breaking in, I think, due to the web nature of the sandal contacting different places on the bare feet but not an excessive amount of rubbing.
