Great Product - Lousy Support!
Review From: T. Rutter, Jan 18, 2007
The router is feature rich and physical connectivity couldn't be easier. Unfortunetly the documentation is based on no changes to default settings. Major Cable companys should at least be covered in the maual or web site. Phone support is very poor and their web site isn't much better. Don't recommend for a none Techie at this time. Their setup wizard could probe your PC for the necessary setting and handle the installation more automatically.

They told me that I cannot buy this router from any store because the routers from the store are not compatible with their DSL modem. I want to know if this is true. Anybody whop could advise me on this I will appreciate.

it hooked up easily, I called the support line to ask a question and they were very knowledgeable. I will probably order another for home now that I have cable.

Linksys would not respond with support
Review From: Peter Pershan, Jan 18, 2007
Basic functions worked fine but when I called for help on subtler problems I was told that the tech couldn't help; and they would call back. They never did. Over 3 days I sent 3 e-mail requests which were never answered

Easy to set up, simple to use
Review From: rampage19@geocities.com, Jan 18, 2007  | See All Reviews
It took me longer to take this product out of the box than it did to get it set up and running. The most and best features for the price, Linksys quality and a switch too. This is a great product

Awesome product!
Review From: jletaw@san.rr.com, Jan 18, 2007  | See All Reviews
I only wish I'd bought through NexTag...I paid $199 at Fry's! Setup was virtually instantaneous and I'm no networking guru. Firewall is airtight; connections are fast! I did not need to change any of the default settings. I now have two home PC's sharing a single cable connection with no problems. Last week did a firmware upgrade from the Linksys web site; took about 2 minutes. I have recommended this to all my friends.

Not the best to buy
Review From: Semloh, Oct 3, 2006
Set-up is fairly easy. Some instructions are totally incoherant. Unit works fine, until you connect a couple of high data rate devices, where upon it can, does, and will lock up. Customer service is non-existant. It is almost impossible to get past "Is the power cord plugged in?" The email responses are quick, but useless. Another prime example of the arrogant "Our products always work correctly, it must be your fault" ego of large corporations.

disappointed
Review From: Scott Finckler, Jul 25, 2004
If you have any intention of sharing files between computers, Do not buy this product. If all you want to do is share an internet connection, it works great. Linksys has NO file sharing support. After endless hours trying to set this up, I finally bit the bullet and called Microsoft, coughed up the $35 fee and they can't figure it out. After 2 calls consisting of 6 hours of tech support I still can't share files.

Don't Buy This Router
Review From: rkfrancis@yahoo.com, Oct 21, 2003  | See All Reviews
I have this router and I have to keep turning it off and turning it on. At least once a week I do this, usually more. I have tried re-flashing it many times, customer support (none), it keeps losing it's WAN IP (goes to all zeroes -- want Internet?), and my ISP IP leasing changes often and it seems that the router can't keep up. Buy Another Router and Avoid These Problems... there has got to be something better out there!

Buy it if you want easy setup
Review From: Joseph McDonald, Oct 2, 2003
The setup was very quick and easy. In about 5 minutes I was able to link my desktop computer, my notebook, and my cable modem. I can now share files between computers and both computers access the internet.

Beware--Save yourself time & $
Review From: NHebbe, Aug 12, 2003
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR ANY REASON. I recently purchased this product for its firewall protection (I was previously using a simple HUB and LAN to connect to the internet). I was able to connect through a remote VPN to a FTP site to upload and download my work until I installed the router. I spent the last two weeks, nearly daily, for multiple hours at a time, on the phone with customer support. The total lack of support was appalling. Most of the time, it seems, the phones are forwarded to India (or somewhere similar) where the customer service reps can barely speak English and get upset with you when you ask them to repeat themselves. They also have to constantly put you on hold to ask someone else or "research" to find the answers to your questions. They do not seem to know which end is up, let alone how to offer technical support for this product. LIKE I SAID, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THE HASSELS. I have now removed the router (with considerable effort and frustration) and now my computer is back to normal. Now we will have to search for a new way to protect ourselves from "prying eyes" on the internet.

Outstanding in ease of use and set up time. Mac user!! ****
Review From: Angel Morales, Aug 6, 2003
I am a Mac user interested in making things work first time out and not having to fumble through to much when setting some thing up to work for me. This router has definately hit a homerun with me with the ease and facility with which it can be set up and started. There is nothing better for the price and my money and time. hehe!

Worked as Adverstised
Review From: Barbequeman, Apr 26, 2003
Set up was a breeze. I am running 3 computers with different versions of Windows (W95, 2000 & XP)- internet access is not a problem and there early Windows version works just as well as the newest version.
