"...Loathe would not be too strong a word. It was very different from the standard mouse I was used to, and I was not happy about having to "re-learn" how to use a mouse.
Now that I have a job that requires me to be on the computer for 6 to 9 hours a day, I am using a trackball and LOVING it.

I prefer the trackball to the mouse because I get better control and greater ease of use.

"...It is very comfortable to use (as long as you are right-handed -- don't know about a version for lefties). I love using my thumb to move the pointer.
Trackballs are much easier than mice, especially if you don't have a lot of space.
If it falls on the floor, the marble pops out and rolls, so be ready to run after it.... See more

I can't say this is the best, because I owned the previous model (no longer sold -- Trackman Marble+) which was much more comfortable for my hands and spaced the 3 buttons out to three fingers (instead of having the wheel/third button lay between two fingers).
But as far as current model mice go, this is the best.... See more
