Both DGN2000 and DGN2200 show low ratings due to high failure rate and overheating issues--the manufacturer needs to pay attention to what people have to say if they want to stay in business.... See more

"...hahaha Other Thoughts: All you need to do to set it up is call your ISP to find out your login, password, and the settings for two things called VPI and VCI. (That was my experience with Quest/CenturyLink) A paper included confirmed it to work with AT&T, Verizon, Qwest and CenturyLink, but consult your ISP to be sure.
Just be assertive that you don't want support, you just want your login credentials for your new modem.

Other Thoughts: Netgear has a newer model now, the DGN3500.

Cons: This is my third Netgear gateway (out of 8 total that i've used); I did not have to call support for either of the other Netgear units, which I installed manually.
Netgear's support center is staffed by individuals who 1) seem to be located in a large south Asian country, 2) can only follow a troubleshooting procedure with no innate technical troubleshooting skills, and 3) gave me incorrect information regarding my gateway's interaction with my ISP (I was told that the 2200 was so new and that my account with my ISP was so old, that i had to call my ISP and get an new account - WRONG!)....
