I have used this lens with a D70s camera for 1.5 years for indoor basketball games, plays and choir/orchestra performances. The pictures are always sharp and the focusing is fast. This is a great lens. The VR function is very helpful for taking pictures during high school choir and orchestra performances when a fast shutter speed is not needed to stop the action. I often use a 1/90sec shutter with the lens at 200mm using the VR and get great pictures. That is the primary reason I purchased this lens and it meets every expectation.
