"I rented a car for August 9, 2006 in
Columbia, SC at Thrifty Rental through
Overstock.com¿s travel department. I
flew in late, got to the counter and
was told they had no cars. They
didn¿t offer me any compensation, no
apologies, no help finding a car
somewhere else, nothing. I was
fortunate that Budget was still open
and had some cars available. And for
an additional $60 (the clerk felt
sorry for me and gave me a discount or
it would have been more) I was able to
get a car.
Overstock makes it extremely difficult
to contact them. Their ¿feedback¿
form has a ¿send¿ button at the bottom
that doesn¿t work. They have a
general email address at
info@overstock.com. I already read
articles on how they receive thousands
of emails daily. I¿m sure mine will
get lost in the pile. I called their
numbers and nobody could help me.
They are too big to care about their
customers anymore. I can¿t afford to
get left hanging like this and won¿t
ever book through them again.
Additionally, I used to shop with them
fairly often, but given their lack of
customer response, I won¿t be shopping
there anymore either.

"I am shocked that I am still having
trouble with my order. I ordered a DVD
box set on 12/7/05 with hopes to have it
before Christmas for a present. As of
1/4/07 I have yet to receive it. I never
received any correspondence from
Overstock.com stating there was an issue
with the shipment, although their
website reflected my purchase has yet to
be delivered (currently listed as
¿Accepted¿). The USPS provided the
following details regarding the package,
¿The U.S. Postal Service was
electronically notified by the shipper
or shipping partner on December 08, 2005
to expect your package for mailing.
Information, if available, is updated
every evening. Please check again
later.¿ To me this implies Overstock.com
never gave the package to the USPS for
delivery. I called Overstock.com twice
in hopes to get my purchase. I was told
that according to Overstock.com¿s
policy, I would have to wait 8-10 weeks
while they ¿perform a trace on the
shipment¿ before I could receive a
refund or have another DVD box set sent
to me. What a scam! Buyers should beware
of companies such as Overstock.com that
hold customer¿s money hostage while
Overstock.com gets their act together."

"The prices are good for the most part,
but beware of their very strict return
(no exchange) policy and horrible,
horrible customer service. I sent two
messages regarding a problem with my
order; it's now been a month since the
first email and I've heard nothing in
reply, even though they state a
response time of 24 - 48 hours. In the
end, I just ended up buying another
copy of the damaged DVD because I'm so
fed up. I do not recommend this
merchant unless you're desperate to
find something. Otherwise, just visit
DeepDiscountDVD.com. Much better
service!"

"I ordered a DVD on Dec. 4. Overstock
said that they shipped it on Dec. 6.
When it did not arrive, I inquired
about it. Overstock responded that I
should wait 15 business days. When I
emailed them on 12/28 and asked for a
replacement or refund because I still
had not received my DVD, they said that
they have a lot of confidence in the
U.S. Postal Service and I should wait
longer as I would eventually receive my
DVD. They refused to credit me a
refund or send me a replacement item at
their expense. They did give me a $3
credit on future purchases at
overstock.com. But this won't do me
any good as I don't intend to ever
again make a purchase on
overstock.com. Their customer service
is very poor. They claim to make
customer concerns their highest
priority but they don't deliver on that
claim. The U.S.Postal Service delivery
confirmation website clearly indicated
that I had not received my DVD. And it
said that U.S.P.S. had been
electronically notified of a shipment
from overstock.com. But it did not say
that the U.S.P.S. ever received the
item for shipping. The company should
be named overcrock.com or maybe
overcrook.com "

"I tried to order 10 different books of
various quantities. Their website
would not let me expedite shipping to
my state. When I called to do the
same thing, they again would not
expedite the order to me. They also
require the last 4 digits of your
social security number, which can lead
to identity theft. Not secure at all."

"OK
I ordered a book at Overstock because
they provided the best price. The book
never came. I sent emails to their
customer services and never got any
response. Later I went abroad and just
put this behind. And I finally got the
same book from Amazon. I won't waste
my money on Overstock anymore"
