The Tungsten C Almost Has it All
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Feb 25, 2005
The PalmOne Tungsten C features a speedy 400MHz processor, 64MB of memory, and a 320x320 TFT color display, making it perfect for professionals who want PC capability with the mobility of a handheld device. The Tungsten C is 802.11b Wi-Fi enabled, allowing you to surf the web or check your e-mail from any wireless hotspot. The integrated thumb keyboard, directional keypad, and four shortcut keys make for easy input and navigation. Though the Tungsten C boasts a significant amount of user accessible memory, there is also an expansion slot for SD or MMC cards. Included with the unit are a protective cover and a charging/syncing cradle. The Tungsten C's software bundle includes general schedule applications, the ability to sync with Microsoft Outlook, NetFront 3.0 Web browser, DataViz Documents To Go 5.03, Bachman PrintBoy, Palm photoviewer, Kinoma Player and Producer, and Solitaire. The Tungsten C has a few design flaws that may be the make or break selling point for some users. The device does not include an MP3 player and only mono audio is available. Also, the device lacks an external speaker or microphone for voice recording. Overall, the PalmOne Tungsten C is quite vigorous when it comes to performance. Its 400MHz processor results in smooth playback of multimedia. Its ability to handle multiple applications, but lack of stereo MP3 capability, make it more for users who will primarily take advantage of the handheld device for professional use.
