After going back and forth between LCD and Plasma for 6-8 months and doing extensive online research, I settled on this beautiful G-10. After listening to all of the negative anti-plasma talk over the past two years I was pleasantly surprised to learn that NONE of what I had been warned about was true. After two months of 10-12 hours a day viewing I have experienced NO heat problems, the screen barely feels room temperature at the end of the day. NO image retention problems. During the first 100 hours (recommended break in time) I was careful to set the contrast,brightness, and sharpness to reasonable levels, usually between 35-50. The sound is better than I had expected although I did buy a blu-ray surround sound system after a month. The color is as natural as any TV I have ever seen and the blacks cannot be matched by ANY LCD or LED. All-in- all this product is the best bang for your HDTV buck. KUDOS to Panasonic!
