"I had a poor experience with the customer service at Prestige Camera. After finding the the perfect camera for a good price on their website and orddering it online, I recieved a phone call from them asking me to buy an over priced memory card and battery charger.
The camera takes AA's but the phone rep. convinced me that the camera needed these speacial batteries and though I was hesitant I purchased the batteries along with the camera thinking it was a good buy.
I was WRONG becasue when I saw the batteries I was sold they were regular cheap rechargable batteries that I later found online at a different retailer for less than HALF of the price. I am NoT pleased with Prestige Camera because of the tone and overall impression of their represetatives. I am returning the batteries."

"I placed the order for my camera and never heard from them again. So I called after waiting one week and was asked why I was buying a camera that if something would go wrong with it that I would have to ship it out of the country to get it fixed. I told them that I wasn't going out of the country and the person on the order desk told me that the price would be $50 more plus shipping even though they advertized free shipping. Their web site doesn't tell you that the particular camera that was advertized on their web site was one that can only get fixed in another country. Prestige Camera LLC have falsely advertized their product of this camera and I would never buy from them again. They don't email you and let you know when your item is ordered or even when it is shipped. The people answering the phones are very rude."

"They talked me into upgrading to a more expensive bundle because it included what I was ordering anyway but also included an extended battery and warranty upgrade. Sounded good. I got the package and the battery was not there, only the standard one that came with the kit. I immediately called and I kept getting disconnected or sent to a mailbox even though I explained what was happening and I wanted to speak to an actual person. I called a total of 11 times before I spoke to a human. They explained it was on it's way. They were very short. I call the next day to see if I can ask more questions and then I am told, the battery in the kit is the extended battery. My husband checked and it is the standard battery NOT the extended one. I later that day get an email that says my order is on it's way dated a day after the initial call. I was lied to and I have no idea if they are even mailing the correct battery. UHG! So disappointed. Camera was a good price but their customer service STINKS!"

"After spending quite a few hours searching for the best price on a camera, I placed my order as I had found the best price. Not knowing they would call to confirm the order, they spoke to my spouse the next day and convinced her to spend nearly $200 more for the "special" package. So much for comparison shopping!"

"I found a camera on Prestige Camera's
website (Kodak Z650) for $193. When I
called the store, I was quoted $193.99,
which is no big deal. I was also quoted
$39.95 for a batter charger and $14.95
for shipping. A total of $248.89,
right?
I ordered, gave a credit card, and
awaited my camera. Today it arrived
with an invoice for $251.98, with no
breakdown of charges between the camera
and charger????
I was a little disappointed.

"Well, I started out ordering a Canon
XTi from you at $713 as stated in your
website. I received a message to call
and confirm my address (which you
already had) The guy I talked to said
I had ordered the Japanese version and
that if I wanted the US version it
would cost me $899. I told him this
was misleading, he said no that fact
was clearly stated in the ad. (not
true) He talked me into it. I just
received the camera and it is the Kiss
Digital X (Japanese version). What a
bait and switch rip off. How do you
want to deal with the exchange? Send
me the US version (you pay shipping)
and I will return the Kiss Digital X to
you (at your cost). Please let me know
what you want to do about this."

"I saw many cautions on several review
sites for Prestige Camera, but there
also were many satisfied customers so
I tried them and placed an order
online for a Nikon D70s. I promptly
got an email to call them to verify
the order. (The only purpose for this
call -- aside from ostensibly
verifying your address -- is to give
them the chance to upsell you over the
phone.) Sure enough they pulled a
switch, asking me 'Did you want the
gray market camera or the US version?'
There was no mention of gray market in
the ad. He said 'There's no way you
can get the US camera at that price.
Very deceptive. (Nikon will not honor
warranty for gray market cameras).
Well their price for the US version
was still decent so I said go ahead.
Then I got the line about the stock
battery that comes with it only lasts
20-30 minutes, and you need this
upgrade battery for $79. I said no
thanks. He tried upsells on two more
items, the media card, which I
declined, and then the extended
warranty, also declined. With that
the conversation was over, he said it
would be shipped promptly and it was.
By the way the stock battery has
lasted for several hundred shots so
far over the last week or so. Total
bull on the 20-30 minute ploy.
Overal the salesman was courteous and
was obviously just working through an
upsell script without much feeling."

"Impressed with price & shipping costs,
but I received a phone call after
placing the order, and the caller (with
Prestige) was trying to sell me a
lithium battery saying I would have to
purchase in order to get camera to
work. After receiving this call, I
called Prestige to cancel my order but
first asked about what the caller told
me. The customer service rep said that
it was not required but was
reccommended. "

"Took for every to get the camera
shipped then when it came in it was
short the extendend battery that was
suppost to be with it. I contacted
customer support and they shipped out
a STANDARD battery. All in all not a
great experence for the amount of
money I spent."

"I bought a Nikon P4 camera at a lowest
price on internet. The customer
service on the phone was bad. When I
made a call to check on the shipment
and the call was transferred to 4
different customer services. At the
end, the customer service guy said
that " Not ship yet. It has to be 4-5
business days" and hung up. Actually,
it has been 5 business days since I
ordered when I made a call. I turned
to email and finally i got a feedback
that said it has been shipped. I
track UPS and it took a week to get to
my house on UPS ground from NY to UT
($15.00 charge).
Total 2 weeks I had the camera. The
camera is good with other things, but
no soft cover case.
I would recommend anyone who wants to
buy from this site needs to be
patient, keep asking for shipment.
Customer service is two stars. Price
is 5 stars. Overall is 3 and 1/2
stars.
Prestige Camera needs to improve
customer service to have a better
customer satisfaction."

"I was looking at buying a Leica camera
at Prestige, asa they have the best
price, and the bad reviews have turned
me off. I checked with the BBB online
and found the following assessment ...
"Based on BBB files, this business has
an unsatisfactory record with the
Bureau, because there is a pattern of
complaints, and the business has not
corrected the underlying reason for the
complaints."

"Order process was typical. However, I
was contacted by phone by a
representative to confirm my order. It
also turned into a 20 minute high
pressure sales call to sell me
accessories and extended warranties.
Sales rep was more interested in the
warraranty sale than the item itself
to the point of seeming desperate."

"1. Pentax Optio WP was received in good
condition. 2. Product was delivered on
time once the order was confirmed
verbally. 3. WARNING: They want to
verbally confirm the order to try to
sell you something else. They are very
pushy and obnoxious. They tried to sell
me another battery (about $100) that
lasts longer than the Pentax battery."

"Future buyers beware that 1-year
limited warranty does not mean in the
U.S. My camera came in tack & at a
very good price. I purchased this in
the U.S. & it came with a
limited "Latin America" Warranty.After
reading some of the other reviews it
appears to be a common problem.
Otherwise the transaction was fine
after the confirmation call."

asking for a address confirmation. I
called and the tried to "upsell", which
I figured is part of the low price game.
After I read a few of these reviews, I
freaked and canceled the order, which
they did with no hastle.

Wow, I bought a camera from Prestige
a few weeks back, and chose them over
another company that seemed to have bad
feedback and paid $4 more.
Coming here now, a few weeks later and
seeing all the upset customers,
and reading all the bad reviews, I
wonder, did I get the companies
confused?
In any case, when i called, I knew
exactly what I wanted, ordered it,
gave a CC #, blah blah, nothing out of
the ordinary. Took about 5 minutes.
I got an email confirming the order,
then an email confirming shipment, with
tracking #. The item arrived without
incident, no one tried to sell me
anything I didn't want. I did buy the
extended warranty they offered for 50
bucks...since I was buying a refurb'd
Kodak camera, I thought it might be a
good idea, and still was less than $300.
That same camera is now a mere $189
here now...wow. Thats is really a good
deal for a really nice camera (Kodak
P850).
I had no problems at all, the camera
arrived in about a week to California,
it was well packed...
I'm really surprised to see all these
bad reviews. My order
was completely professional and
uneventful.
Nothing special, but certainly
satisfactory. I'm not sure what
constitutes "Above average".
I got what ordered, when they said I
would, in one piece. And no, I don't
work for them.
Was I just lucky, or are people bashing
this company?"
