Sammons Murphy Ring Splints are designed to help correct swan-neck deformity of the PIP joint. They restrict abnormal hyperextension while allowing active flexion at the PIP joint. These can be used on the PIP and DIP joints to provide lateral stability and joint protection. These can also be used upside down on the DIP joint to provide prehensive stability. The sterling silver splints are easy to adjust without tools, while the stainless splints may require pliers.
