An excellent all around mic!
"...
I use this mic for lots of different live applications but I think it works best on a snare.
It just gives it a nice, tight, crisp sound and preforms better than any other drum mic I've used.... See more

if you can only buy one mic.
"...If you don't appreciate finer details, the sm57 is a great mic. Go buy that one.
If you are a perfectionist, and you want one mic to do the job of five, get a beta 57A right now.

sounds great as a vocal mic also!
"...
I own a Beta 57 and a Beta 58, as well as a few 'standard' 57's and 58's.
By my own ear and after getting several positive comments from vocalists and band members - the Beta 57 is my 'secret weapon' live vocal mic.... See more

review
"...Awesome mic, I use it for vocals and they come out some true and crisp, without any pop or feedback. I have also used it as a mic on acoustic guitar, snare drum, and guitar amps, both in the studio and live.
Honestly the best dynamic mic I have come across.

Beta 57A in my Video Work

I bought the Beta 57A for use in my event video production work, specifically, handheld use for interviews where the ambient noise level is high.
Example is a wedding reception with loud music in the background or general handheld interviewer use.... See more

Instrumentalist's dream
"...it's like a sm57 but better and more responsive, with less feedback. on vocals it kills an sm58 side by side.

mics guitar cabs exceptionally well; all that there is left to do is break out the harmonica; something tells me i won't be disappointed.... See more

I got one about a year ago to go along...
"...I got one about a year ago to go along with my SM57. I use the two of them together and they work very well recording my classical and Taylor guitar.
The 57A I have aimed at the bridge and the SM57 Both are placed about 4 inches from the guitar.
I get a nice balanced sound from them, but the 57A is a little hotter/more sensitive than the SM57.... See more

Great Quality
"...Once I tried to record acoustic (stand up) bass with this, but I must say that the results were disappointing. Even after cutting the mids considerabley and trying many mic placements, the sound was muddy, indistinct, lacking low end, and lacking detail.
But that's because dynamic mics just don't work on acoustic bass.
Anyway, this mic sounds GREAT on trumpet, and works really well for pretty much anything live, especially vocals and spoken word.... See more

The Perfect Guitar Amp Microphone
"...I play in a hard rock cover band that does alot of studio and live work.
I previously owned the SM57 but the Beta version seems to bring out the warmth and clarity my standard 57 did not.
It picks up every nuance when I play and has the articulate nature of the more expensive studio instrument mics and is rock solid to boot.... See more
