great mic!
This is an excellent, general purpose microphone at a reasonable price.
I'm a classically trained vocalist, and I use the SM58 for rehearsal and "scratch" recordings.... See more by Lenny, Dec 28, 2009
Shure It's Good !!
"...I am a blues harmonica player for over 30 years.
Most blues harp players use the Shure Bullet.
I prefer this mic.... See more by Chad Nicholson, Feb 21, 2009
Awesome mic
I am a PRCA rodeo announcer and have used the SM58 w/switch for years.
It really brings out the bottom end of my voice like no other mic has.... See more by rick, Jun 7, 2010
I think this has to be one of the most durable products ever.
Produces a great sound, and they are reasonably priced and seem to last for ever.... See more by Matt, Feb 3, 2009
Great sound, but a little wary of the switch...
"...This is a great mic - it's tried and true and holds up to it's reputation. I have used it for a few live performances so far and have no complaints.
Only thing is the switch doesn't seem very robust like the rest of the microphone.
I haven't had any problems yet, but I think that Shure could have beefed up the switch a little more.... See more by TP, May 10, 2010
slightly less sensitive
Was surprised to see that there was a marked diferrence between my first regular sm58 and the newlly aquired, sm58s.
Maybe in time the two mikes will come closer together in sensitivity?... See more , Dec 12, 2011

The Standard
I have used samson mics, cheap akg's and shure pg58s with no problems but I wanted to upgrade so I bought an SM58 with the on/off switch.
It's a great step up.... See more , Jan 28, 2012
SM58S is s SHURE thing!!
"...I'm happy with this mic.
The switch is handy and looks for professional when you turn the switch to off rather than covering up the mic with you hand to talk to someone on stage or in practice session.
I like the on/off switch so when not in use I can have it off or when playing between song and talking to band mates turning it off you can hear what the mic is picking up and braodcasting through the monitors.... See more , Jul 14, 2012
