The Sony MV-7101DS is an all-in-one mobile DVD system featuring the MV-101 DVD player, the XVM-470 LCD display, and a cordless stereo headphone set. The MV-101 DVD player is compatible with DVD, audio CD, and CD-RW discs. The DVD player can be easily stowed under a car seat or in a glove compartment. The DVD player connects to the XVM-470 7.0" flip-down swivel LCD display using a single cable delivering both power and the video signal. The system's connectivity options include composite A/V inputs, composite A/V outputs, a TOS Link optical digital output, and a headphone jack.The DVD system's drawbacks stem from its design limitations. Since the LCD display is designed to be mounted on the ceiling of a vehicle, the video/power cable needs to be properly routed around the car to the DVD player. Also, the system lacks built-in audio and users must either use the included headphones or connect headphones to the DVD player's 3.5mm jack. Though the Sony MV-7101DS does pose some limitations, its basic design is best suited for users who are most likely to mount the system to entertain children on long car trips.
