Functional
"...All pretty easy to use. Other than that what I like is the strap is long enough to wrap around the outside of several layers, so you can wear it on cold days and easily tell the time/altitude.
Other people have commented on the watch - it's got a really large face and apparently looks cool. Biggest downside is the face scratched easily.... See more

Great watch, but don't get the orange band
"...For summer or moderate weather activities, wristwatch altimeters are great.
But for winter or cold weather, clothing layers and gloves make it difficult to access the watch- especially with an ice tool leash. For winter or cold weather I use an external clip-on altimeter like the High Gear ATF8 (lightest, most functional I've found).... See more

More than a watch
"...This sucker is pretty sizable no doubt to squeeze in the temp and pressure sensors, but it looks sharp enough to pull off with a suit...especially in the rockies. He was stoked to go from sea level to near 10k feet in Maui.
Call me foolish, but replacing the band once every year or two for a watch you can wear for outdoor or daily use doesn't seem that bad. Can't give it that fifth star since I don't own it, but I wish I did...... See more

0 for 5
"...One never made it out of the store because it didn't work, and the other four lasted no longer than a year. One had water leak in, one Lumi had the band break for no reason, and the two others just stopped working with no explanation.
Despite the great features, I won't buy another Suunto. ... See more

My second time reviewing this watch

Having reviewed this watch a month or so after buying it last February (2008), I have been asked to write a review a 2nd time because it returned this first watch because the battery lasted only 6 months.... I'm not surprised as the watch was activated upon arrival.... See more |
