"I was confused by the system requirements listed on the website. The software would not load. VioSoft would not refund my purchase, claiming that it was Adobe policy. They sent me back to Adobe. Adobe tells me that VioSoft was not an authorized reseller and would not refund my purchase. Now I now am stuck with software I can't use. This is NOT customer service! Buyer beware!"

"Extremely Unhappy with my purchase with this company. I purchased what was listed as a FULL version of photoshop cs4 extended on their website. There was no mention that this was an education version. It said full version and listed the full version part number. It arrived today and what did I get? I got an educational version. If I had wanted an educational version I would have purchased one myself through adobe since I am in college and can purchase an educational version myself if that was what I wanted. They charged me quite a bit more than I would have paid at Abobe as well and the software came with no documentation. I am extremely dissatisfied and have sent an email to their sales department. I purchased from them based on reviews on this site and I am very unhappy since I did not get what I paid for. I will update this on the resolution of this issue but at this moment I would NEVER do business with these people and would NEVER recommend them to anyone. I was also told by adobe that all educational serials are registered to someone and cannot be sold."

"Adobe design premium, is what I was after. Ordered FULL version, and received OEM. I would have written this off as a simple mistake, but I was assured before ordering by two different people at vio, that it was indeed the full version. Also, a cute trick, covering the key code with the return policy sticker. They did return my money, but I wasted over two weeks with the whole hassle. My request that they refund my return shipping costs was ignored. The old saying still stands, If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Dont waste your time trying to buy higher end stuff from people like this."

"Ordered what was puported to be a retail edition of Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard. What we received was confirmed by Adobe to be an OEM edition serial number (a less-expensive license that is only sold bundled with a computer), but was not in normal OEM packaging, which suggests that it is counterfeit. Vio Software has agreed to accept the return without penalty (only because I had not opened the package- the serial was visible through the packaging), but buyer beware..."

Response from VioSoftware: "OEM products are clearly labeled on the media and packaging. After further inspection, we have found no evidence that our Retail versions are OEM."   Date: May 15, 2008

"Very rude and disrespectful customer service. The shopping on the web was easy but the phone interaction was not good. I cancelled my order and place a $7,000 sale with another retailer who actually appreciated my business. I simply wanted to place an order for software and was responded to with unprofessional and unwarranted behavior. I will not do business with them again. I am an honest business owner and have been in business for over 3 years and do not believe I deserve to experience Will Jeffries rude behavior when trying to place an order for a client who is depending on me to complete their support request. I asked Will if he treated other customers like this and he smugly replied "yes". They said that my order was flagged as Fraud and I had to ask 4 times to get the wire transfer information. My credit card is valid so is my shipping and billing address. I have successfully purchased many items over the internet, however, this was the worst experience I have ever encountered. Their attitude made me feel like they were doing me the favor in selling me their products. I went to them for the cheaper price and ended up purchasing from Ingram Micro. I paid more but at least I got better service and confidence that my client will receive legal product. Very disappointed with Vio Software :("

Response from VioSoftware: "With fraudulent orders at an all time high we have a more proactive approach to our fraud prevention. This is not only for our protection alone, but for our customer as well. Please provide us with a phone number we can contact you at for orders over $1000. If we can not contact you, we can not ship the order. "   Date: May 15, 2008

"Terrible, placed my order many different times said I had to do a direct deposit into their account. They called my order fraud when obviously it was not."

"The web site hung when I submitted my order. When I called customer service they looked up my order and told me it never went through. When I asked them to send it through, they said they would do it for $10. Do you believe it? They obviously had my order info in their database because they could look it up but they were unwilling to help me. They told me I could start all over or pay the $10.00 fee!"

"Very disappointed about company's unwillingness to pay for return shipping when product was substituted without my approval or notice. Cust.Service insisted that substitution warning is on website, but it isn't visible when using Nextag link to buy product from website. I won't do business with VioSoftware again."

"I haven't purchased anything yet, but why would VioSoftware not mention whether or not the product is insured. After all, there is a restocking fee - your fault, my fault or no ones fault! And why not flag the restock fee if damaged during shipment?"

"Fedex Home Delivery (the FREE delivery!) required me to drive 44 miles to pick up the product. It was returned to Vio. Vio charged me $6.00 plus a 3.8% restocking fee. Talking to Mia the Customer Service rep was futile. And she has no supervisor. She declined telling me if she was the only employee."

Response from VioSoftware: "We are very sorry for your unsatisfactory experience. According to Fedex, they attempted delivery five times before the product was refused by another party at your location. They stated you were on vacation. We understand you are not happy, so we refunded the $8.28 shipping and restocking fee, but in the future please order products when you know you will be home to accept it. "   Date: Jan 14, 2008

"I called in to customer service. The initial person could not help so I was transferred. I was offered a $5 - $10 off with manager approval. The guy was sarcastic and rude. Then told me he didn't want me as a customer although I was not being rude. I asked to speak to the manger and he said he was the manager. They take the "not my problem" attitude and obviously lie to their customers. I will never buy from this company again. "

Response from VioSoftware: "We are very sorry you had an unpleasant experience. We assure you that was not our intentions. We make a very strong commitment to customer service as our extremely positive reviews reflect. Please contact us again with details and we can see if we can solve the problem. 888-617-9922"   Date: Jan 5, 2008

"Received HP OEM software listed as regular OEM. We notified them and gave them a chance to fix it and we received two burned disc with a Dymo label on each. Avoid like the plague. They are selling illegal software copies."

Response from VioSoftware: "We list two types of Windows Home OEM software. Branded and non-Branded (DSP) versions. Both are identical in use with about a $5 price difference. Both are 100% legal to use. Please select the non-Branded (DSP) version if you prefer not to have any third party logo's. Not sure what the customer is talking about with the burned disc. Please call us at anytime with questions: 888-617-9922"   Date: Dec 23, 2007

"I ordered retail Office 2003 product and did not receive the Certificate of Authenticity which is required in order for a license to be valid according to the manufacturer of the product. The manufacturer said I should return the "suspect product" to VioSoftware because I did not get the license which I paid for. VioSoftware would not accept my return because I had opened it. They gave me another contact to get a refund directly from the manufacturer. Now I have to wait and see if I will get my money back. If you are purchasing software that you want to be "completely" legal, especially for a business, then I would not recommend VioSoftware. The software that I received did not appear to be pirated, I just did not get all of the docs that the manufacturer requires to have a valid license to use the software. Note: 2 of the customer reps said that many of the products from the maker of Office that VioSoftware sells do not include a COA. That is a big warning sign to purchase elsewhere."

"Rude customer service. I ordered over $1500 worth of software and it never arrived at my house. When i called customer service to see where it was, it wound up back at their offices, in new condition. But they insist on charging me over $400 in restocking fee for something that never hit my doorstep. rediculous."

"My overall satisfaction is zero. Rude people don¿t get very far in my book. I know the consumer is fighting a loosing battle in the era of the quick buys of the cashless society. But I really miss the attitude of the customer being right, and will not stop at anything short. Seeing all these soaring praises on this website also makes me also wonder if the raters have had the opportunity to speak with management there."

"Bought WIN XP hoping to upgrade from 98. I received the product in a timely fashion, but only found that I could not upgrade after opening the product. If you want to upgrade don't buy OEM products. The company would not exchange the product. Now I am stuck backing up all data and to another device and then reformating my hard drive. VioSoftware is behind the power curve in advertising exactly what can be expected of the software they offer."

"I searched the Net for good deals on Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 & found a site recommended by many: Viosoftware. It advertised a $43.95 price plus a $20 rebate. I couldn't resist & ordered it with a debit card from my new business account. In the meantime, I downloaded a trial version of the same software, so I could start using it while waiting for my package to arrive. It arrived, but not in a box, in a simple CD sleeve, sealed with a registration number. Right on the CD it states, "FOR BUNDLES ONLY. Not to be sold separately." I did not open the package, but did try to enter the serial number in my downloaded trial version. Adobe's response is "Invalid Serial Number". To add insult to injury, the $20 rebate requires proof of purchase from the software's box - which, of course, was not included since it was a part of a bundle not intended to be sold separately. Viosoftware's return policy is a 3.8% charge plus shipping and handling costs (the amount of said charges were not disclosed). More than likely, if I simply return it, they're likely to not return much money - figure I'll be lucky to get $5 out of them. Plus I'd lose the evidence of what I believe is an illegal sale. "

Response from VioSoftware: "We are very sorry for your negative experience. The product you ordered was very clearly labeled as OEM. Our OEM description states that you will not qualify for any rebates. Please review the product page you visited and contact us for any questions. We never mislead customers at VioSoftware. Our overall ratings are a testiment to the level of integrity we uphold. "   Date: Mar 28, 2006

"Beware: on the price comparison, this seller quotes a price of $24.99 for Norton Antivirus 2005 5-user; when you click to buy the product, what appears is the 2004 edition. The 2005 edition is $144. I'd like to believe the positioning of the 2004 edition is an innocent mistake rather than a deliberate bait-and-switch, but I almost was lured into buying the wrong product."

Response from VioSoftware: "The link has been changed to show the 2005 version. There is only a .99 cent difference in those two products, so bait and switch was never our intention. Thank you for your feedback. "   Date: May 5, 2005
