Don't forget the lock!!!
Anybody who has used roof rack system knows they can really howl if you don't use a fairing.
I didn't know there was a locking device for the fairing~~ until mine was stolen.... See more

Love this thing
Anyone that has ever had Yakima racks knows the howling sound it makes as you get to speeds over 40mph.
This allows you to eliminate that all together.... See more

"...At 37mph I'd get this horrible vibration, so attached a bike tray to the bars, now it kicks in at about 60. Not good.
Last resort was the fairing.
How a cheap piece of plastic does it I don't know/care, but no more noise!... See more

Definitely recommended for the price.... See more

Help quite the car down
I got this because the rack over the cab of my truck made a ton of noise.
After I go the fairing it cut the wind down by at least half.... See more

Absolutely Necessary
I hated my Yakima rack before I bought this.
I never left it on my car because anything over 30mph sounded like I was riding in a convertible.... See more

Get it!
I have the 32" fairing, and it fits perfectly between the side rails of my 05 Outback (clipped on to my Lowrider rack).
The fairing reduces noise, and completes the look of the rack.... See more

Get it or regret it
I read several reviews that mentioned whistling with car racks so I got the fairing when I got the rest of the rack and I have not had any problems at all with whistling.
I took it off once just to see if there was a whistling and there definitely is.... See more

Yakima Fairing
"...Got these for my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
The Yakima racks are sitting on top of the factory racks using Yakima Low Riders and the racks are too high for the fairing.

32" on a Subaru Impreza
I really think the fairing is more for aesthetics than anything else.
It might cut wind noise a small amount, but I truly doubt the claims of fairings impacting gas mileage to any noticeable degree.... See more

What I was expecting
"...Installs in seconds and works like a charm.
Some have suggested that it increases their gas mileage, but the on-board MPG calculator on my car read the same before and after using the fairing, so I would not say that the difference is all that measurable.
One note, I went though one of those automatic rag like car washes and it made it though without a hitch.... See more

It does the job and makes the rack look great.
It probably eliminates 60% of that whistle you'll get without it.... See more
