Got this disposer with my house. Never had a problem with it until I switched out my kitchen sink. Surprisingly, the mounting brackets on the disposer are plastic while the mounting bracket is metal. Either during deinstall or install, the plastic mounting nub on the bracket broke. You can order the part but you have to dissassemble the whole unit to replace and it is likely to leak after that especially in a 10 year old unit. Because of the plastic, I have to trash this one and get another. I think this amounts to an unnecessary design flaw which mars an otherwise unflawed piece of equipment with a sterling service life. AND, this after my wife uses it like a "wood chipper".
