PDA Appeals to Techies and Business Users
Review From: editorialreviews@nextag.com, Dec 9, 2005
"For people who do incremental upgrades, the Tungsten E2 may not represent enough improvements for the price. Others looking for an entry-level PDA for basic business functions or those who haven't upgraded in a while will appreciate a pretty little handheld with solid performance.
Some important features are its sharp color clarity, Flash Memory that can survive a shutdown, and Bluetooth® for wireless connections to phones, computers, and printers. But first, the beauty aspects: The PDA measures 4.5 x 3.1 x .59-inches and just under 5 ounces, and features a 320 x 320 Transflective color screen with more than 65,000 colors as well as expansion slots friendly to SD, SDIO, and MultiMedia Card™. Second, its numbers are pretty nice, with an Intel® 200MHz processor and 26MB storage available out of 32MB memory. Third, it works hard, and can take Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files.
Savvier users have been disappointed in the price, especially given the same old OS, slower performance when multiple applications are open, and both the warranty and customer service. Compatibility issues arise, such as Versamail's synch with Outlook or Bluetooth® with unsupported systems. Others see the casing as inferior to previous models, and features like a voice recorder aren't there. Generally, however, both overall performance and battery life win kudos. "
