Adequate Laser Printer for Small/Home Offices
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, May 5, 2005
The HP Laserjet 1300 laser printer
features a 1,200 dpi resolution, a
133MHz processor, 16MB of internal
memory (expandable to 80MB), and a fast
warm-up time. The printer is capable of
printing up to 20 pages per minute, with
the first page printed in eight seconds,
and is also capable of printing
double-sided documents. The output bin
holds up to 125 sheets and the paper
tray can hold up to 250 sheets of paper.
Users can also use an optional paper
tray that holds up to 510 pages. The
printer features a USB port, a parallel
port, and an expansion slot for
connecting to a print server. The
Laserjet 1300 also has a relatively
compact and minimalist design making it
capable of fitting easily into a
small/home office.
Like most printers, the Laserjet 1300
does not come bundled with a USB or
parallel cable, and users will have to
purchase one separately before using the
printer. In general, the Laserjet 1300
is not designed for heavy use, but
rather moderate use as HP suggests
printing no more than 10,000 pages per
month.
Overall, the HP Laserjet 1300 laser
printer has adequate print capability
and quality. Users who want a robust
printer with a large print capacity
should look elsewhere, as the Laserjet
1300 is best suited for users looking
for a small office/home office printer.
