Basic Car DVD Player Lacking LCD display
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jul 8, 2005
Pioneer's DVH-P5000MP DVD player features a built-in amplifier, a wireless remote, an AM/FM Supertuner IIID with 24 station presets, and is XM Satellite Radio ready. The player is compatible with video DVD, DVD-R/RW, audio CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3 CD discs. The DVH-P5000MP also features a three-band parametric EEQ equalizer with two user defined and five factory presets including Super Bass, Powerful, Vocal, Natural, and Flat. The player also comes with built-in Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro-Logic decoders. The player's connections include a rear channel output, a front channel output, a digital optical audio output, an IP-Bus, a composite video output, and a subwoofer output.
One drawback to the DVH-P5000MP is that it lacks a LCD display found on many in-dash DVD systems. However, this omission is reflected in the player's low price tag. Overall, the Pioneer DVH-P5000MP is best suited for users who have an existing display setup and want a basic system for viewing DVDs and listening to music.
