Great for radio/GPS capability
Review From: Eric Helms, Jan 19, 2007
I use this GPS in forestry business and it is an all round great device. This baby is waterproof. I've dropped it into a creek several times, no leaks, at least internal. If it takes a dunk the battery compartment will likely leak, so pull the batteries and dry it out. I use this thing on more drenching downpours than I care to remember (I live in Oregon).
Radio function is good. Some voices are more difficult than others to hear, but overall two way radio communication, slightly below quailty of purpose built two-way radios.
GPS is overall good. Reception is generally good under tree canopy but can be poor in some places and conditions, especially in areas of oregon with poor satellite coverage. My only complaint with the unit after 3+ years of service is the rubber buttons wear down. I used seam grip to seal the volume and zoom buttons.
