Plasma's are great for a dedicated theater room that is dark. LCD is the way to go in a family room /Den. The picture quality on the XBR6 is hands down better than the Samsung plus no screen glare. Don't get me wrong the Samsung is an excellent TV for the money however if you watch a lot of TV and want the best picture and overall product get the Sony. A good analogy is comparing a Lexus to a Toyota. Both will get you there but one is smoother quieter and faster.
