I looked around at a lot of cameras. I wanted something small enough where I could take it everywhere, yet packed with enough goodies to take some nice pics. It came down to this and the Canon PowerShot 8mp with the 10x zoom. It was a close choice as both took great pics. But the fact the Sony comes with an excellent lens of superior quality, and the fact it has a lithium rechargable sold me..... I know a lot of people like the AA battery options but I don't.
And this Sony battery lasts a LONG time. I can get well over 300 pics using the zoom and flash the whole time. And for $40 extra you can get a backup battery. You would need 10 AA batteries to get that many pics out of a digital cam.
This Sony does everything well.... I can't believe the pic quality.... the zoom is great and the macro is great...
All around an excellent camera and I'd feel safe telling my best friends to buy one.....
