I was a bit hesitant buying a refurbished unit, but I need not have been. Other than saving me major bucks, I can't imagine what the difference would have been, compared to a "brand new" tv. When connected to my digital cable, the picture is clear and bright, especially the HD programs in 1080i. And when connected to my 1080p up-scaling DVD player, movies are like they were meant to be when they were produced. I have this tv wall mounted and part of a home theater 5.1 surround sound system. All I can say is "Wow"! I'm sure glad I didn't spend an additional $500+ on something else.
