Expensive Sound for an Inexpensive Price
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, May 11, 2005
When considering the price, users rave
positively about this set of speakers.
The Yamaha NS-555 floor-standing
speakers can hold their own against
more expensive units. In fact, you may
have to spend quite a few dollars more
to find comparable speakers.
These speakers were made for the home
theater and include 6.25-inch cone
woofers, 5-inch mid cones, and 1-inch
dome tweeters. The speakers also
utilized Yamaha's waveguide horns and
its design helps sound quality in home
environments.
The Yamaha NS-555 includes Monster
Cable in the internal wiring and
separate terminals to reduce
distortion. The unit is also shielded
to reduce interference with televisions
and video monitors. Users also
appreciate the sleek black design and
find setup to be simple. Even mounting
the speaker stands is easier than many
other models.
Users are almost universally impressed
with the price. These units seem to be
the best in their price range and the
savings can be pocketed or used to
upgrade other components in your audio
system.
The drawbacks for these speakers
include the fact that sound quality
dips in extreme highs and lows.
Otherwise, users feel the Yamaha NS-555
floor-standing speakers produce such
great sound that purchasing these
speakers is well worth the money spent.
